CPR Certificate Course
Hands-on CPR skills that could save a life — recognising cardiac arrest and delivering effective chest compressions and rescue breaths. A focused half-day run at your workplace.
An in-depth look at the course
CPR Training is a focused, hands-on half-day that gives people the single most important emergency skill there is: the ability to keep blood and oxygen moving when someone's heart has stopped. Started promptly, effective CPR can more than double the chance of survival, yet many people hesitate simply because they have never practised. This course removes that hesitation.
Delegates spend the session on manikins, building the rhythm, depth and confidence of good chest compressions, and learn when and how to bring a defibrillator into the picture. It is delivered at your premises and suits any group — workplaces, clubs, community organisations or families.
What you’ll learn
The essentials of CPR
- Recognising an unresponsive, non-breathing casualty
- Calling for help and getting an AED on the way
- Chest compressions — correct hand position, depth and rate
- Rescue breaths and the compression-to-breath ratio
- Compression-only (hands-only) CPR and when to use it
Putting it together
- The recovery position for a breathing casualty
- Recognising and helping with adult choking
- When and how to use a defibrillator (AED)
- Plenty of supervised manikin practice to build confidence
Who should attend
CPR Training is for anyone who wants the confidence to act — workplaces wanting wider resuscitation cover beyond their formal first aiders, gyms and leisure venues, community groups, reception and front-of-house teams, and families. It pairs naturally with our defibrillator training and needs no prior experience.
Assessment & certification
The session is assessed by practical observation, with the trainer confirming each delegate can deliver effective compressions and manage the sequence. Successful learners receive a certificate of attendance. For care and healthcare settings that need a formal annual competency, our Basic Life Support course, delivered to Resuscitation Council UK guidelines, is usually the better fit.
