School First Aid
First aid tailored to school staff and the injuries and illnesses common in school settings — from playground knocks to asthma and allergies — delivered on-site to teachers and support staff.
An in-depth look at the course
School First Aid is a one-day course built specifically around the injuries and illnesses that school staff actually encounter — from playground falls and head bumps to asthma attacks, allergic reactions and diabetic episodes. It equips teachers and support staff to be confident, capable first aiders for school-age children.
The content is tailored to the school environment and the realities of managing an incident in a busy setting. Delivered on-site to your staff, it is an efficient way to make sure you have appointed first aiders across the school, trained together to a consistent standard.

Who should attend
This course is for teachers, teaching assistants, office staff, lunchtime supervisors and other staff in primary and secondary schools who need to act as appointed first aiders. For nursery, reception and other early years provision governed by the EYFS, our Emergency Paediatric or full Paediatric First Aid courses are the more appropriate choice.
Assessment & certification
Delegates are assessed by practical observation throughout the day, demonstrating the core skills to the trainer. Successful learners receive a certificate valid for three years. The course reflects current guidance on managing medical conditions in schools, including the use of spare ('emergency') inhalers and adrenaline auto-injectors where a school chooses to hold them.
How on-site training works
We bring manikins, AED trainers and all consumables to the school; you provide a room with floor space — a hall or large classroom works well. One fixed price covers up to 12 staff, and we will fit the day around the school timetable, including INSET days where that suits.
