Course overview

An in-depth look at the course

Defibrillator (AED) Training gives your people the confidence to act in the minutes that matter most during a cardiac arrest. Survival falls sharply with every minute that passes, so the combination of immediate CPR and early defibrillation is what saves lives — and this practical half-day makes sure your team can deliver both without hesitation.

Using training AEDs that mirror the real thing, delegates practise the full sequence until it feels natural: recognising the emergency, starting effective CPR, and applying the defibrillator safely. It is a short, focused course delivered at your premises and pairs naturally with any AED you have installed or are planning to install.

Certification

Assessment & certification

Delegates are assessed by practical observation throughout the session — the trainer confirms each person can perform effective CPR and operate an AED safely. Those who meet the standard receive a certificate of attendance. While AEDs are designed so anyone can use them, this training builds the speed and confidence that make a genuine difference to outcomes.

FAQs

Defibrillator (AED) Training — common questions

Do you actually need training to use an AED?
An AED talks the user through every step, so anyone can use one — but training removes hesitation and builds the speed and confidence that improve survival in a real cardiac arrest.
Is CPR included?
Yes. Effective CPR and AED use go hand in hand, so both are taught and practised together.
How many people can attend?
Up to 15 on this course, all included in the fixed price.
Can the AED be used on a child?
The course covers using an AED on children, including the use of paediatric pads or settings where available, and what to do if they are not.
Will the training match our own defibrillator?
The principles apply to all AEDs. Tell us the make and model you have and we will make sure the session reflects it.
How long is the certificate valid?
We recommend annual refresher training to keep resuscitation skills current, in line with best practice for CPR and AED use.
